Preserving History &
Creating New Memories

I’m Remco Vrolijk, and for the past 18 years, I’ve called Hirado home. Ten years ago, my friends introduced me to this historic inn, a rare gem built in the late 1800s which was set to be demolished. I immediately fell in love and instantly decided to buy it with the aim to restore it to its former glory.

It has been my long term dream to transform this remarkable property into a unique inn where visitors—both Japanese locals and travellers from around the world—can experience its rich history and beautiful surroundings. Over the course of the past 11 years many people have worked hard to make this dream reality, and we are very excited to finally be able to say that we are open for guests!

You can make a booking by contacting us through email or by phone.

How you can help

This house is more than just bricks and mortar—it’s a piece of living history. To preserve its original features a lot of skill, time and money is required.

Even though we are open for guests, the garden and bathhouse have not been finished yet. With your support, we can finally change this old house into a beautiful, welcoming inn that honours its past while building a future.

We aim to start our crowdfunding campaign soon, so please sign up to the Newsletter to stay up to date!
